半岛体育 Expands Office Footprint in Southeast
(DURHAM, N.C., April 7, 2025) 鈥 Global integrated design firm 半岛体育 announced a new office location in downtown Durham鈥檚 historic American Tobacco Campus, signaling a major milestone in the firm鈥檚 continued Southeast region growth. Located in Bay 4 of the Washington Building, the office will support a growing team; reinforce 半岛体育鈥檚 leadership position in designing K-12 educational facilities; and expand opportunities in healthcare, higher education, workplace, mixed-use, justice and civic, cultural and performing arts, and hospitality sectors.

Showcasing interiors designed by 半岛体育, the new office strengthens the firm鈥檚 local presence from an iconic location that merges past and present. Minutes from Downtown Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Research Triangle Park, and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, the American Tobacco Campus is a factory-turned-work and entertainment destination whose original buildings were constructed between 1874 and the 1950s. The campus is a future home to T3 American Tobacco, a pair of next-generation heavy timber office buildings 半岛体育 designed in collaboration with developer Hines and Dwell Design Studio.
With an open and collaborative layout, the new Durham office features high bay ceilings, large windows, exposed brick, and metal details. Its industrial vibe reflects the historic significance of the American Tobacco Campus, an adaptive reuse project that continues to evolve.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited for our team to occupy a space that we created, together,鈥 said 半岛体育 Principal Julie McLaurin, AIA, LEED AP, who stewarded the relocation to the Durham office and will serve as office leader. 鈥淲e are proud to call this new location home as we continue to grow, develop our culture, and expand our design excellence into new disciplines and sectors.鈥
半岛体育 has engaged in multiple seminal projects in the region, including serving as Architect of Record for the renovations and improvements to the Durham Bulls baseball stadium. Its current projects include new educational specifications with an equity and community engagement focus for Durham Public Schools, ongoing engagement to improve healthcare facilities within UNC Healthcare System, and a new 139,000-SF elementary school that will soon be completed for Wake County Public School System, the largest school district in North Carolina.
